Christmas Miracle-A late post!

(Long post, but worth reading, I promise!!)

Now that I finally can upload videos, I want to share with you a very special video I took this past Christmas season. Twice a year, Chad’s dad’s side of the family has a reunion in the Garner area-once over the summer in July and once around Christmas. Nearly 100 people come to them-Eunice Hicks and her siblings have a very large family tree! (Eunice is Chad’s dad’s mom). Some of the siblings have sadly passed on, but altogether there were 14 siblings total!
Eunice’s baby brother Carlton has had several strokes in his lifetime and open heart surgery. He also lost his beloved wife, Francis, a few years ago. One of his strokes caused no more mobility in his left arm.

…..that is, until this past Christmas season…..

the following is a script of the first video in which Lovey Jean tells the story…..she is telling folks about how Carlton cannot move his left arm on his own, and that he needs his right hand to do it for him……

(First video): “He has to pick it up with his right hand, put it on the table and what have you. He hasn’t been able to move his left foot. He was listening to some gospel music last night, and while listening to that, his left arm began to move. I told him “Carlton, Go in and listen to it again and maybe you get that left leg moving.”

(Well, he never did get that left leg moving, but as you can see in this second video, he moves his left arm!!!!!!!!!)

As Lovey Jean says, “…..Christmas is about Miracles…….”

Amen to that!!

Unfortunately, since these video took place, Carolton has had another stroke. But he keeps on keepin’ on. His faith and family are the two most important things in his life. And the Wolfpack! Carolton is the biggest NCSU fan I know. He has a heart of gold. He makes me proud to pull for State! Go Pack! And we love you Carlton!!!!!
